Hi, Welcome to my website.  I began my career in Berlin, Germany, in 1977, as a studio piano player. I played every day in the studio and did live gigs and learned the studio world inside-out. I came back to New York and opened up my first studio in my apartment. I learned engineering from working on everyone’s music. I moved to Hoboken and opened Waterfront Studio. I recorded every band in the area and began to improve all my audio skills. I also began to question the sound of music, and I began to search out vintage consoles, mics, etc.  In 1985, I met Lenny Kravitz.  Lenny and I have been musical partners for over 20 years.  By Lenny’s 3rd record, our sales exploded, and after moving from Hoboken, I built Lenny’s Roxie Studio in Miami and at the same time built a full orchestral studio for Takeshi Kobayashi in NYC. *** I have recorded four #1 records in Japan, ‘Justify My Love’ which also reached #1 and all of Lenny’s hits: ‘It Aint Over’, ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’, ‘Again’, ‘American Woman’, ‘Let Love Rule’, ‘Always on the Run’, ‘Lady’, ‘I’ll Be Waiting’. The record we did with Vanessa Paradis was also a #1.  I just finished recording Lenny Kravitz’s new record ‘It’sTime For A Love Revolution’ and am very happy that the record entered top 5 around the world.  *** I have now finished building  my new recording studio.  I wanted a facility that gave people privacy to make their music, but to be located within a city so that the musicians and my staff are not in isolation.  I also wanted a space where people could record with the ability to play all of their music live, and not in an untreated warehouse or an environment that compromises the sound.  This led me to Hudson, New York.  Hudson is a beautiful city right on the Hudson river and is full of beautiful old homes with many original details.  Here is where I found my new Waterfront Studios.  I hope that musicians will love the idea of recording and being up here, and even though Protools is available, musicians have so many acoustic choices here so playing together can become the focus.  The cost for my service as a producer and engineer is based on the clients ability to afford.  I will work within the budget that makes people comfortable, and not forcing prices that makes the whole experience uncomfortable.
